Friend or Foe Clean up after your Dog

I should like to congratulate anyone who reports a person allowing their dog to foul in a public place and not picking it up.

I find this unacceptable that people are so irresponsible.

It is an offence to allow a dog to foul any Footpath, Park, Play area, Grass verge, amenity green etc. without cleaning it up.

Most parks are now supporting Dog Loo Bins and therefore there is no excuse.

Some excuses are "It's not my dog I'm walking it for a friend", "I was looking the other way".

As a dog owner myself we are all responsible for our dogs and therefore need to make sure we know what they are doing in public places.

The only owners exempt would be a registered blind person with a dog they will not be prosecuted. The general public could be find up to a maximum of £1000.

Estimates put the UK dog population between 6.5 - 7.4 million, producing 1000 tons of excrement per day, therefore not sup rising that dog fouling is a major issue.

We can all play our part by reporting direct to the Animal Wardens anyone who is allowing their animal to foul the area or you can contact them on 0114 2037415 for further information.

Lets keep our local parks and areas clean.
